He set about planning the surprise proposal and took Ione away for the weekend – to a remote location in North Wales that they both hold dear, and that holds special childhood memories for Josh. En-route, Josh and Ione stopped at a quaint shop that sold a variety of items; one of those delightful shops that sells everything that is handmade and that you just can’t get enough of. He came out of the shop with a small wooden rabbit souvenir that he gave to Ione, and a ring that she didn’t know about.
Later that day they went for a walk to a waterfall and the highest accessible point. Picture the scene. It was idyllic. Snowdonia towards one side, the sea to the other. As Ione turned to face Joshua, he was down on one knee bearing a single solitaire that he bought from the very same shop as the wooden rabbit….
They wanted a ceremony that was short, simple, sincere and intimate.
- Haybales provided seating.
- Groomsmen provided guests with a drink
- Guests provided the atmosphere
- Josh provided himself with a ciggie to calm the nerves,
- The bride and groom provided the love.
We all provided emotional tears when they said their vows. On my gosh. The vows.
The vows say everything about this truly lovely couple. Real. Heartfelt.
Ione and Josh’s vows were at the heart of their ceremony, and they kept them a surprise from each other until they were spoken. I’m not even going to try and put the emotion into words on paper – just watch their amazing video trailer below by professional videographer Craig of AmazingDays that captures it all. You get it just right every time Craig!
Enough said.
